Switched here from my old family dentist a couple of years ago. Had my first cavity filling today—it was minor, and they didn’t freeze. Didn’t feel a thing and was over in 20 minutes. They give dentists a good name!

Excellent. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Dr Nazaran and his whole staff are professional, compassionate, more than capable and I have no “Dentist Fear Syndrome” when going there. As close to pain free dentistry as I’ve known. And they accept CDCP (Canadian Dental Care Plan), so Bonus. I highly recommend this dental office.

As a parent, finding the right dental care for my children is of utmost importance to me. I am thrilled to share our wonderful experience at Dentist, where my son received top-notch dental care that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff at Dentist made us feel welcomed and at ease. They have a fantastic way of creating a warm and friendly environment that instantly put my son at ease, which is no small feat for a child who was initially nervous about visiting the dentist. The dentist and dental hygienist were incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. They took the time to explain each step of the examination and treatment process in a way that my son could understand, turning what could have been a daunting experience into an educational one. I truly appreciate the effort they put into making dental care a positive and educational journey for kids.I highly recommend Dentist to all parents seeking the best dental care for their children. They have certainly earned our trust, and we look forward to our next visit with smiles on our faces!Sincerely,Sara

How is a Tooth Injury Treated?

Here are four typical cases of traumatic injury and a summary of how they get treated:

  • Chipped/ fractured a tooth’s crown?
    • Reattach missing piece.
    • Apply a tooth-coloured filling.
  • A large portion of the crown is chipped?
    • Apply a restoration “cap” or crown.
  • Is tooth pulp damaged or exposed?
    • You might require root canal treatment.
  • Injuries in the back teeth?
    • You might need a root canal & a full crown restoration.

Is the tooth pushed sideways or pushed into or out of the socket?

  • The tooth will be repositioned and stabilized.
  • A root canal may be necessary.
  • May need root canal fillings or dental crowns for restoration.

Visit an emergency dentist or endodontist IMMEDIATELY!

  • If you visit an emergency dental office within 30 minutes, the dentist may be able to save your tooth.
  • The dentist will apply a stabilizing splint for the following weeks.
  • You may need a root canal 1-2 weeks later.

Is your tooth horizontally fractured at the root?

  • The dentist will check the fracture; the closer to the tooth tip and farther from the gumline, the better.
  • It may require stabilization with a splint.

Emergency Tips?

After a traumatic injury event or in the case of dental emergencies, consider the following questions while on the way to a dental clinic.

  • Are there any central nervous system symptoms after the injury?

  • Are there any disturbances when biting?

  • Is the injured tooth sensitive to heat changes or sweet and sour?

  • Is the injured tooth sore while eating or getting touched?

  • Is there spontaneous pain in the injured tooth?

FAQs

If you knock out a tooth, it’s crucial to act quickly. Gently rinse the tooth with water (don’t scrub it) and place it back into its socket if possible. If not, keep it in a glass of milk or saline solution and seek immediate dental care. Contact our oral surgeon in Newmarket for emergency treatment.

Wearing a proper-fitting mouthguard can significantly reduce the risk of dental injuries while playing sports. At our clinic, we can help you choose the right mouthguard to protect your teeth during high-contact activities.

Not all dental trauma results in severe pain. Minor injuries like chipped teeth might cause minimal discomfort, but any injury involving bleeding, swelling, or significant pain should be evaluated by a dentist specialist as soon as possible.

If left untreated, dental trauma can lead to long-term issues such as infections, tooth loss, or misalignment. Seeking timely treatment from our best oral surgeons in Newmarket can help prevent these complications and protect your oral health.

Recovery time depends on the severity of the injury. Simple injuries like a chipped tooth may heal quickly, while more severe cases, like a knocked-out tooth or fractures, may take longer. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by our dental team to ensure the best recovery process.
